The After Kidney Transplant program is the first program from Winnie's House Foundation Inc. This program was chosen to be first because so many people suffer kidney disease. I also believe there is a need to provide more information and a first hand account of events before and after you've had a kidney transplant.

I generally research everything when it comes to my health- to the medications I am prescribed, the medical procedures I am having, and the medical diagnoses that I am given. This knowledge allows me to engage with my doctors better and to understand the correct questions to ask for the answers I needed. This, gives me a voice in my treatments.
I also read everything I could about kidney transplants when I first went through all the testing for the THE LIST. But, I discovered there were still some things that I did not know!

I consume a great deal of medications that are prescribed by different doctors. The goal is to make sure those other medications do not react negatively with my immunosuppressant medications. It is important to know your body so that you can articulate what you are experiencing to your transplant team and other doctors. Remember, every medication has side effects, especially immunosuppressant drugs.
I will also offer a wide range of products like pickleball sets, t-shirts, mugs, hats, etc. Proceeds and donations from this site will be used to fund the program, which is part of my non-profit organization.

I was so elated when I was finally released from the hospital. I was ready to start living my best life. But, when I got home, I was behind in my mortgage. I didn't a have a clue of what I was going to do. I knew foreclosure letters would be coming soon.
I did have 💰 saved just in case I was blessed with a kidney transplant, but the pandemic depleted those funds. I was looking for any program that could help me catch up. After 3 more months of stressing, I came across a program- Maryland HAF program- they offered to pay the mortgage of individuals that were 3 months in the rear. The After Kidney Transplant Program will aim to do the same thing. Once a patient leaves the hospital and find themselves behind 3 months in their rent or mortgage and unable to work, the program will provide the funds to help cover those 3 months. As long as funds are available, the program will help as many as possible.
As stated previously, proceeds and donations from this site will go to the After Kidney Transplant program.
